Black Lives Still Matter: Protest Friday in Mountain View
6 pm to 8 pm, Friday, August 28, Castro Street and El Camino Real

Sponsored by Mountain View Voices for Peace and Justice

The shooting of African-American Jacob Blake in the back by a Kenosha, Wisconsin policeman is yet one more reminder that the fight for racial justice in America is far from over. We’ve been reluctant to hold street demonstrations because of the risk of spreading COVID-19, but at some point we must act!

We urge all participants to wear masks and spread out in all directions on the sidewalks on all four corners. Bring signs.

If you’re uncomfortable protesting outside, take part in the “rolling rally.” Place signs on your vehicles and drive through the intersection repeatedly.

At our last demonstration, a number of people wanted to block the traffic heading through the intersection. While we understand that impulse, MVV4P&J has decided to let traffic through. If you need to block traffic, go someplace else!
